Questions
The things people ask us
If yours isn't here, call or text(732) 272-6908. We'd rather answer it than have you guess.
Do you come to me, or do I bring the cart to you?
We come to you. Crosstown Express is a mobile service, so most jobs get handled right where your cart sits — at your house, your dock, or wherever it broke down. If a job genuinely can't be done on site, we can bring it back to our shop to complete repairs.
What does a repair cost?
We quote by the job rather than by the hour, so you know the number before we start. Call or text with a description of what the cart is doing and we'll give you a straight answer.
What areas do you cover?
Folly Beach to Dewees Island and everywhere in between — downtown Charleston, James Island, Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, Daniel Island and Mount Pleasant. We also cover Kiawah and Seabrook, with an extra travel fee. If you don't see your neighborhood, ask. We probably cover it.
What makes of cart do you work on?
Club Car, E-Z-GO, Yamaha and Bintelli, plus most other makes, gas or electric. If you're not sure whether yours is something we handle, send us the make and model and we'll tell you straight.
How do I request service?
It depends on where your cart lives. On Dewees Island we handle requests directly — call or text. Everywhere else in Charleston goes through our online client portal, where new customers can start a request and past customers can log in to their account.
My batteries keep dying. Do I need new ones?
Not always. A lot of what looks like a dead battery pack is a watering or corrosion problem, and both are fixable. We test before we sell — and if you do need a new set, we install Crown batteries on site.
Do you sell golf carts?
Yes — we sell carts alongside our service and repair work. Give us a call or text and we'll talk through what you're after and what we have available.
Can you move a cart for me, even if it doesn't need a repair?
Yes. Transport is a standalone service — you don't need to be booking a repair to use it. We move any size cart, gas or electric, running or not, across the same area we cover for service. Like our repair work, it's quoted by the job.
Can you bring my cart to a beach rental for the week?
Yes, and we do a lot of it. If you're renting a house on Isle of Palms, Folly Beach or Sullivan's Island, we'll deliver your own cart to the rental before you arrive and collect it when you leave. Give us the address and the dates.
Do you handle fleets?
Yes, and it's a real part of what we do — rental properties, HOAs, resorts and businesses running carts as work vehicles. We service fleets on site so carts go back into rotation the same day, on a schedule sized to how hard they run. See our fleet page for the detail, or call and tell us how many carts you've got.
Still stuck?
We quote by the job and we come to your cart. Tell us what it's doing.
